July 12 Bee people needed at Longmont's Rhythm on River

Post by joangregerson » Thu May 29, 2014 11:14 pm

Sustainable Revolution Longmont has coordinated with the Longmont Recreation staff to have two booths at the July 12 Rhythm on the River event. One will be on How to help Bees, and the other on Food Miles (Local food). The booths are in the "Conservation Carnival" area, where kids and parents learn through interactive activities and games. They win tickets which can be exchanged for prizes. We are seeking bee lovers that can help design a teaching concept, e.g. which pesticides to avoid, which plants to plant, and/or staff the booth on July 12 (open 9am-5pm). The festival has approx 20,000 visitors that day, and the booths are well positioned to generally get a lot of visitors. The area is set up as a carnival, and carnival games can be reserved for the booth. There is no fee to participate.

If you are interested in helping use this opportunity to reach out, please contact Joan Gregerson, Sustainable Revolution Longmont, [email protected], 720 224 7020. Thanks Joan
