Bee/Pollinator Safe Neighborhood Workshop - August 20, 2016

Post by don.murray » Wed Aug 10, 2016 2:23 pm

Are you interested in making your neighborhood safe for bees and other pollinators? Join us on Saturday, August 20th from 3-4:30 pm for a workshop to learn how you can help!

Sponsored by the Longmont Coalition for People and Pollinators (LCPP), the event will feature David Wheeler from Bee Safe Boulder, who will be leading a presentation on how to go about making YOUR neighborhood pollinator safe and why the Bee Safe Neighborhood movement is so important. Light refreshments will be provided.

The cities of Boulder and Lafayette, as well as Boulder County as a whole, all passed Bee and Pollinator Safe resolutions in the last year, so public property there is safe for bees and other pollinators like never before! Now it’s time for the citizens of Longmont and surrounding cities to step up and do their part.

Whether you've already started campaigning your neighborhood, aren't sure what steps to take, or are looking to network with other passionate community members, this event it for you.

The meeting will take place in the Meeting Room at the Longmont Public Library. Bring a laptop or tablet so you can get your neighborhood going right then! We look forward to seeing you there!

P.S. If you can't make the meeting, but would still like to start your own Bee Safe Neighborhood, you can get started on the Bee Safe Boulder website. (beesafeboulder.org). Click the "BEE SAFE YOUR..." menu and choose "NEIGHBORHOOD". Fill out the form and Bee Safe Boulder will post your neighborhood on their pledge map and send you pre-populated pledge forms for every address in your neighborhood. Get started today!
