Wildscaping Ambassador Train-the-Trainer Workshop + Special Presentation on Pollinator Safe Neighborhoods

LONGMONT, CO – Attend this special train-the-trainer workshop made possible by the partnerships between Audubon Rockies, Colorado Native Plant Society, High Plains Environmental Center and People and Pollinators Action Network. We will engage and train volunteers on spreading the word about actively restoring natural habitat for birds, butterflies, and other pollinators by implementing water-wise and native gardens on our landscapes. Come enjoy meeting other fellow gardeners and learning the tools of the trade to deliver a presentation to your local garden center/nursery, garden clubs, community center, HOA’s and more on the importance of creating native plant gardens that not only create a welcome place for birds, but benefit the environment and our communities too! **Special Notes: Attendees will receive a Wildscape Ambassador Handbook and invitation to our network sharing platform.

The Habitat Hero: Wildscaping 101 presentation explores landscaping designed to attract and benefit birds, pollinators and other wildlife - using plants adapted to the Colorado environment. Means you will:

- spend less time planting and caring for them giving compared to most non-native plants;

- attract native pollinators and bird species that provide valuable environmental services and provide additional beauty;

- reduce the strain on Colorado’s water systems since these plants use less water than landscape plants not naturally adapted to our environment.

“Training session are open to anyone or any group interested in learning more about how to include native plants into all sizes of landscape”, said Jamie Weiss, Audubon Rockies’ Habitat Hero Coordinator. “We are encouraging groups of individuals as well as representatives from garden centers, plant nurseries, garden clubs, along with groups such as home owner associations to attend.

This upcoming presentation is scheduled:

Where: First Evangelical Lutheran Church | 803 3rd Ave., Longmont, CO 80501
