Flat Pack Beehive.

Post by trizcs » Tue Aug 13, 2013 7:23 pm

Hi Boulder County Beekeepers,

I work with a Denver based group called Open Tech Forever. We're developing a digital beehive design that can be freely downloaded, plugged into a CNC machine(found in most full sized workshops) and automatically cut from a single sheet of wood (it then slots together without screws). We're placing sensors in our hive that can monitor temperature, co2 levels, pesticides, and bee numbers. The sensors will be wifi connected so data can easily be collected and analysed to get information about hive health and track instances of CCD.

We're looking for candidates to test and give feedback on our design, and were wondering if any of you would be interested? Its an opportunity to be involved in an experiment that could help turn the tide against CCD - or at least give beekeepers valuable data for their colonies.

Please leave any feedback below, and if you're interested in getting involved, please contact me on [email protected].

Many thanks!

I'm interested. What does it entail?

Thanks.
