**FREE** 8-frame spacers for 10-frame supers-8 pk.

Updated 1/29/15-We would like to pass these on to someone who will use them instead of sending them to scrap metal recycling, so they are now FREE to the first person who responds. If you can still see this ad, these are still available.

These metal spacers are designed for honey supers, to install along the frame rests and divide the space evenly for using 8 frames in a 10-frame super. This serves two purposes. One is to increase the amount of honey that can be harvested from each honey super (I have been told that 10 frames in a medium super yields about 30 pounds, 9 frames spaced wider yields about 35 pounds, and 8 frames spaced even wider yields about 40 pounds, but I must confess that I have not done a weight comparison.) The second purpose is to facilitate easier uncapping during the honey harvest, because the bees build the comb out beyond the edges of the frames. The only caveat is that you cannot use foundation with these but must use comb that has already been drawn out before the frames are spaced with these dividers.

We bought these to use in our hives but we decided to use a spacing tool instead. This 8-pack is enough for 4 honey supers (if you use one on each side) and has never even been opened. It did not come with nails, although the spacers have holes for installation with nails, but we have the correct size and will include them too.
