Boulder Jewish Family Services - High Holidays Food Drives

Post by sunigam » Wed Aug 12, 2020 10:01 am

<t>Hi BCBA, I have been contacted by the Boulder Jewish Family Services to ask if the BCBA community could support the Boulder JFS in delivering High Holiday food boxes to 50 older adults throughout the Boulder community beginning on Thursday, Sept 17th. Boulder JFS is asking for pints or quarts of honey which will be provided to the recipients as samples of honey approximately one and half ounces in jars to be placed in each food box. The boxes will include the traditional High Holiday goodies of apples, honey, juices and locally baked items.

Boulder JFS is part of Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) a nonsectarian, nonprofit human services agency serving metro Denver and Boulder. One of the focuses is the elderly population either living in a facility or in their homes. With the pandemic, these folks are more isolated and have lost some connection to the Jewish holidays since the Boulder JFS volunteers cannot go to the facilities to celebrate with them. Other Boulder JFS services include care management for any one needing assistance with rent, utilities, food, eyeglasses etc that other area organizations sometimes will not provide. Again, JFS serves all in need, not only the Jewish community.
Please contact Evie Verderber at [email protected] with any questions. Thank you, Michael Suniga, BCBA member</t>
