Niwot Honey Bee Harvest Festival
The Niwot Honey Bee Harvest Festival will be held this Sat, 28 Aug in Niwot. It's a brand new venue this year, and BCBA has accepted the invitation to have a booth there. It's an ideal one for BCBA to promote our association and educate our neighbors about bees because
  • it's local
    it's summer
    it's free admission
it's easy to get to and park
you'll be talking to your neighbors
    lots of related displays/vendors, and
we have location, location, location on the corner of Niwot Rd and 2nd Ave, the two main drags through lovely Niwot.
Yeah, it's short notice, sorry, but we'd love to have you sign up to staff the booth! There are 2 hour shifts and an hour each for setup and takedown.
Here's the Sign Up Genius link

Consider signing up with a friend!

You all know way more than you think you do about bees and way more than the general public. Come and share it! There's also a list of FAQs from the Nat'l Western to help you out. This is an outdoor venue so BCBA has purchased a popup tent for some shade. We'll have all of the educational materials that we usually have including the observation hive. (We might not set up the backdrop.)

Feel free to bring a stack of your bee-related business cards, but rubber band them (wind) and supply your own holder if you want.

The forecast is for 90F so please bring plenty of water, a hat, sunglasses, a battery operated fan if you'd like. Inside info says that there will be a lemonade stand nearby.

If you sign up for a time slot, you may sell your bee related wares! Those who want to sell honey or other food items must have a cottage foods license or commercial food license and have it with them and can only sell during their own shift or that of a designated representative. You may sell other home made bee related items such as candles, body care products containing bee products, bee related craft items. If you need more than a square foot of space, please bring your own table. Your primary responsibility is for staffing the BCBA booth during your time slot, but you can devote time before or after for your own sales. BCBA won't handle any sales or money. Sellers are responsible for local sales taxes - there's no state sales tax for cottage foods. Sellers will share the separate $25 fee for selling and deliver it to the festival host.
Come celebrate bees!
Cheers,
BCBA Board - Kristina W., Amanda L., Engrid W., Jennifer H., Mike R., Christi W., Lauren Y.
